Post by Sr.Praporshchik A. Viktorovich on Oct 12, 2005 18:49:54 GMT -5
“Comrades, for the good of the revolution, run this 3 mile course.”
The training officer pointed in the direction of the track.
Andrei ran his hands through his long brown hair. He could easily run three miles. He ran quickly and efficiently through the course. His comrades timed him, and he clocked in at 20 minutes. He smiled as he began the next bit.
“Next comrades, 40 push-ups and 100 sit-ups! We must grow strong in order to repulse the enemies of the party!”
Andrei put his working class muscle to use. With each motion he thought of his duty to the revolution, and to the motherland. After completing 40 sit-ups, Andrei began the push-up routine. With the precision of a machine, he finished before the rest had even gotten half-way.
“Excellent work, what is your name comrade?”
“Sir, my name is Andrei Viktorovich. For the revolution I live, and for the revolution I will die!”
“Ha! Not if you maintain your strength. The true proletariat will never die. Here, take this.”
The officer handed Andrei a Mosin-Nagant. With in-human precision he picked off targets far down the firing range. His accuracy was limited only by the quality of the gun.
“Congratulations, Viktorovich. I know you will serve the Red Army well.”

"Raz, dva, raz, dva....Mishin don't you die on me."
"I won't comrade Praporshik."
"Tunguskie wolf is your comrade, run faster."
"Yes gospodin praporshik."
Ivan ran faster, droplets of sweat were now running down his forhead. Finally he reached the mark.
"Objective complete gospodin praporshik."
"Forty push ups! Raz, dva,...."
Ivan dropped down stopping only for a second to scratch his forhead. Up and down, raz, dva, tri...
"All done gospodin praporshik."
"Hundred sit ups."
Ivan started performing the feat, while comrade praporshik suddenly decided to share wisdom.
"A soviet soldier should be strong like a bear and fast like a fox. I remember in my day we had real men in the army, not lazy slobs like you. Go faster!.........Okay, good, maybe you are a half a man after all. Take out your weapon"
Ivan took out his pistol and aimed infront of himself.
"Unload the clip, fire on my command....Pli!"
Ivan started pulling the trigger, one, two, three, four.....
"Okay soldier, you did it, go."

BASIC TRAINING
"Alright you XXXXXXXX, I should have had you shot for being late. But this time I'll make an exception and drill you personally. The Motherland need more men to die for her in battle, so I'll not shot you dead here just yet!! Don't make me change my mind! "
"But sir, I didn't even want to be here! I was just away sleeping in my truck in one evening, and the next wake up I know I'm already here joining the Army?" the man looks confused. "I've been kidnapped, where am I?!"
"NO MORE EXCUSES!! Get this over with! Run from this post to that other one, back forth 6 times, that's 3 mile course. Strap these on your back and don't drop any. Go now!!"
"But sir..."
"GO NOW!!!" the grumbled instructor produces a gun and points at the young man.
"Yes sir, yes sir..."
...
"Huff... huff... three... mile... completed... sir..."
"GOOD, good." the instructor looks at his watch. "Too slow! Now give me forty push ups to make that up, NOW!"
"But sir..." he tries to plead, but it's replied only with the instructor yet again showing his handgun. "Yes ... sir..."
...
"39... 40... done. Huff... huff... "
"Good, good!!" he looks pleased, but yet again check his watch.
"Can I go home now? "
"TOO SLOW Gaddamn XXXXXXX!!! Worthless XXXXXXXX!!! "
"Sir..." he tries to plead again.
"100 sit ups to make up for that! NOW!!"
The hapless recruit complies, seeing that it's hopeless.
...
"... huff... huff... 98... 99... 100... huff... hufff... done? huff..." the 'unwittingly pressed to be soldier' looks absolutely exhausted.
"Good, GOOD!! Not bad. You've shown determination not to be shot. That's good." The instructor seem pleased.
"I can't go ... home... yet?"
His reply is a Mosin-Nagant rifle and a five-round stripper clip thrown into his lap.
"Get this drill over with, I'm bored!! Take that rifle, load it and shoot! Do it NOW!!"
But the man, looking exhausted, does not seem able to concentrate. It takes him a while to figure out how to load the rifle. Doesn't seem like he's ever seen a rifle before all his life, either. The instructor observes, looking amused, until...
BANG!!!
"WHat?!"
BANG!! BANG!! click... BANG!!
"Watch where you shoot that thing you IDIOT!! " the instructor, looking pale white from shock, rubs the top of his head. His hair is a bit singed. "You almost killed me!! FOOL!!"
"Sorry sir..." the man looks down, tosses the rifle away.
BANG!!! The rifle incidentally shot upon touching the ground.
...
Realizing that they both are still alive and fine, the instructor and the man wraps up the day.
The instructor's report says: "This new recruit we found sleeping in one of the army trucks is a complete moron and a walking disaster. His presence alone on the battlefield, should be good enough to endanger anyone near him, so put him nearest to the enemy. That will bring victory to motherland. His name is Aidonov Watislov."
--awaiting approval.

Pass, um , you should put your name into the 'display name' within your profile.
Your rank for now should be Ryadovoy (private) but get confirmation from one of the two generals. Tell us on the "Request a Unit" thread where you want to be. We got infantry and tank regiments to start.

Post by Efreitor Aleksi I. Mezinov on Nov 1, 2005 13:26:02 GMT -5
OOC - I think we stopped using the color scheme...correct?
IC -
Aleksi was re-living the events that had transpired only days ago. News of his father had reached home, he was killed in one of the first German assaults on Russian land. Aleksi knew he would have to join the Red Army now, since he was reaching the age of 16 and his family would grow so far into debt that his sisters would be forced into being whores to ensure a 'better' life. Aleksi couldn't let this happen. He quit his job and took his final pay, gave it to his mother and told her that he would become a warrior much like his father. He promised to her that he would return in once piece and that the family would be spoiled in rubbels beyond their imagination, and that never again would they be referred as peasants nor would they have to plow the fields. Before leaving, he went behind his mother's back and sold over half of the fields for enough rubbels to last several years. He promised again as he pecked his mother on the cheeks, and he was off to be a soldier boy. He hopped into the crowded truck and the engine spitted and started pulling the group of farmer boys off to become soldier boys. Aleksi couldn't shake that image of his sisters crying and his mother seeming to be emotionless. The came his Commisar's screaming voice.
"COME ON, GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASSES YOU PATHETIC MAGGOTS! YOU SCUM OF THE EARTH DARE TO CALL YOUR SELVES FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF THE MOTHERLAND? I'VE SEEN A BUNCH OF GERMAN KIDS DO BETTER THEN YOU WORTHLESS PEASANST! COME ON, GET UP AND GET RUNNING!"
The farmer boys, now dressed in their wornout uniforms and their ammunitions and canteens and rifles, got up and started running when the Commisar shot into the air. Aleksi was running the fastest, thinking of his family back in Tula. It had only been a short time, or so thought the young Aleksi. His birth-day had gone uncelebrated for he left the day of his comming of age. Freshly turned 16 years old, what a youth to waste. To end up alive or dead, he would always be a cold body therefor after. Aleksi had finished his run, comming in 'first' of the group. Then came another Commisar's voice.
"GET DOWN ON THE GROUND, FOURTY PUSH-UPS!"
Aleksi, already worn out from the run, dropped onto his hands and begin lifting his body and resting it down. He counted to himself, and after the long fourty push-ups he prepared to get up.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING PEASANT BOY? A HUNDRED SIT-UPS!"
Aleksi quickly spun himself around and sat against the ground, he tried to lay down but his enormous pack wouldn't allow him to lay down all the way, so he just began his sit-ups. Counting again, he passed fourty and reached one-hundred much quickly then he did the push-ups. He stood up and realized he hadn't finished first this time, but nearly last. He saw other men and boys running a certain direction and thus Aleksi followed. He heard rifle pops, and he realized what was up ahead. He arrived and was given his ammunition, he shoved the clip into his ammuntion pouch which already had two clips. He smiled, he stumbled onto a gold mine he thought. He raised his rifle and pointed it down range, and was somewhat shocked. A few targets were men, with uniforms saying 'TRAITOR' on the back and front.
"You worthless maggot! Don't just stare in awe, start firing!"
Aleksi almost protested but realized what would happen if he refused to do so, he quickly said a small prayer in his head and began firing. He riddled his clips into the wooden and fleshy targets, and sighed. He said another quick prayer, and found himself reaching into another pocket which carried cigerettes. He promised his mother that he would never get into the habbit, but felt the sudden urge after what he had just gone through. Only problem was he didn't have a match or a lighter, so he sighed and turned around. He was facing the Commisar, and with great surprise he had a lighter raised into the air with the small flame flickering into the air. Aleksi dipped his head forward as to light the Cigerette and took a deep drag.
"Congratulations, peasant-boy, you did well. Report to Commisar Nikolov for your passing papers. And..good luck out there, perhaps I'll see you again."
Aleksi attempted to smile but instead just shook the Commisar's hand, he turned around as he took another drag while releasing the last drag out of his nostrels. It burnt and tasted horrible, but at the same time it calmed him down. He walked quietly twards the other Commisar, now grinning to himself on the inside.
ooc - I assumed that full equipment ment the Rifle already had a full clip in it...yay 3 clips for me!

Pass, but I think you might be over-doing the peasant thing. The communist revolution and those behind it would not want to make the peasant feel lowly, even though that may have been the case. Communism was based and relied upon the glorification and strength of the common people, the proletariat to be successful.
Anyway, you can talk with the higher-ups about what your rank will be.
